Country Crossing
The long awaited ground breaking for
Country Crossing took place yesterday.
Country Crossing is a mega-entertainment complex located just over the Alabama line about 20 miles north of
Marianna. This complex will kick off in approximately nine months with a family restaurant named for country music star, Tracy Lawrence. Upon completion it will house other themed restaurants sponsored by artists such as John Anderson, Lorrie Morgan, and George Jones. Also, there will be electronic bingo, a hotel, an amphitheater, and many other attractions. The biggest plus is the anticipation of jobs to boost the lagging economy. Phase I of
Country Crossing is supposed to employ 700 to 1,000 people initially and more than 5,000 when the site is fully developed.
